King is dead, long live the king! Actually it won't be that long, because life cycle of the cameras are shorter and shorter, but still... The D3 came to the market in august 2007 which might seems as a long time ago, but it's gone through the facelift in October 2009, and re-name itself to D3s, so in fact the current version had lived only for 2 years. Than there was D3X announced in December 2008 with double mega pixel count, but slower shutter aimed to the market where resolution is a Holy Bible and speed is forbidden. Brothers had lived happily together, until now...

    27 Jan 2012 | 8:11 pm
Back in May of 2011 Nikon filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Sigma over lenses with VR technology. I was told that the negotiations between the two companies should be finalized in the coming weeks and a press release will be issued. Nikon was initially looking for a compensation of 12.6 billion yen (around 150 million dollars) which I assume is a lot of money for Sigma. I'm still new at this and want to buy my first tripod. Tried to do some research here but there is so much to choose from I don't know where to start. I have a D3100, Tamron 18-270mm and Nikon 50mm lenses. All of my pictures are family and landscape for my own pleasure. I can spend around $200. What would you recommend? Thanks.

Remember in Wayne's World when in the middle of playing a couple of rock tracks he plays some Nana Mouskouri with the (paraphrased) line "Its similar to a sorbet for the palate"... ??? Well, I thought it might be nice to get away (for a little while) from the quest/obsession for super sharp photo's/MP count/fastest-sharpest lens etc by trying a Holga toy camera that uses 120 film. It was so cool to only get 12 shots off a roll - and then have to get it developed /printed /posted back etc. This is what I got back... Holga Toy Camera - a set on Flickr Tim
